Other Services

In addition to our primary services listed, The Cat Clinic also offers a number of other services, including radiology, FLUTD treatment, and more.

RADIOLOGY/X-RAY

We are proud to be a Danbury, CT cat clinic on the cutting edge of medical technology. Radiology is a technique and diagnostic tool that we use to look inside the body in a completely non-invasive way. X-rays allow us to create images of all the body’s organs.

In other words, the use of radiology gives us a view of the internal organs in your pet’s body that we otherwise could not see. It’s an important diagnostic tool that helps veterinarians detect and prevent illness.

The use of radiology is safe, and our entire staff is highly trained. It is our goal to provide your pet with the highest level of medical care possible, and this is just one of the many ways we achieve that.

FELINE LOWER URINARY TRACT DISEASE (FLUTD)

Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease is a common disease seen in indoor cats and is most common in male cats. FLUTD causes inflammation in the urinary tract that can lead to mucus and cellular debris blocking the urethra, which can be a life-threatening problem.

Some symptoms of FLUTD may include going in and out of the litter box with little or no urine production, blood in the urine, and abnormal grooming of genital area. If your cat howls or acts painful when trying to urinate, he will need to be seen on emergency to ensure his urethra is not blocked.

Your pet’s doctor can help determine the right course of treatment for your pet.  Medical management of FLUTD may include changing your cat’s food or adding supplements to help support the integrity of the bladder. Ask your pet’s veterinarian today on the best ways to prevent FLUTD.

MICROCHIPPING

We are happy to offer microchipping services at The Cat Clinic. Thousands of pets are lost each year, and not knowing where your cat is or how to find them can be a helpless, hopeless feeling. It’s an avoidable tragedy that happens all too often.

Microchipping is a simple, safe, and effective way to ensure your cat’s safety and retrieval should they ever become lost. This standard procedure implants a tiny chip beneath your cat’s skin. It’s also quick and painless, causing minimal stress for your furry friend.

Once implanted, the microchip is registered with your contact information, and can be scanned by any veterinarian or animal shelter to identify your lost cat so that he or she can be returned to you.

Save yourself the heartache and stress of a lost kitty. Microchips bring cats home.
